I decided to do something a little different with “One Ring 3.”  I had two options:  Continue to make a parody of the movies and books or do something more original.  I loved the personalities and quirks I gave the characters, so I decided on doing something original. Chris Boe handled the animation on this one, as I didn’t have the time to do it. We were a bit rushed for time, because I released the movie the day before I went on vacation, but I was pleased with his work on it.  Critical response, however, was less than I expected.  Maybe people were expecting more of a LotR parody, I’m not sure.  But to quote a friend:  “When I firest saw One Ring 3 I thought it was pretty good, but not your best.  But I just watched it again and I forgot how funny it was.”

One Ring 3, in a lot of ways, ended my uber popularity on Newgrounds, It was around that time NG was getting populated with near professionals and more and more great animators were putting stuff out.  And I never saw myself as some super fantastic animator or artist, so it‘s reasonable that my older movies faded away from the top 50 list. So when I look back on One Ring 3, it has a bit of a negative energy about it.  But like my friend, I look back on it and go “Wow… this is great stuff.”

Fun Fact:  The “Tetris” trailer in the bonus section was originally going to be in the movie, but I felt it was too darn long.  I thought the movie in the movie already was drawn out to much and this would have put it over the top.  Chris and I did talk about making a movie based on Tetris, and as far as I know it’s still in the back of his head.  The idea we had behind it all was to treat it as a serious movie… but with Tetris.
